Jesus our savior

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17

We are made for a relationship with God.

That relationship comes through Jesus Christ His Son.

Keep reading to learn how to start the relationship you were made for.

1.     We all fall short

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:23

First we must realize that no matter how we try to live, we all have sinned and fall short of God's standard. That sin separates us from God. We all have the great need of a Savior, of One who can bridge that gap.

2.     Jesus paid the cost

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

Scripture says that Jesus, the Lamb of God, takes away the sins of the world. By His sacrifice on the cross, He has paid our debt of sin and made a way for us. Then He rose from the dead to show us that He had, in fact, conquered sin and death.

3.     Repent

From that time Jesus began to preach and to say,

"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Matthew 4:17

Repent means to "turn away." God calls all of us to turn away from living only for our sin and to turn toward Him, making Him the new direction of our life.

4.     Receive Jesus Christ

as your Lord and savior

That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:9-10

Believe in Jesus in your heart, and confess Him with your mouth and you will be saved. It sounds so simple, but that is the point. Everything that could be done to get us to heaven has been done, by our Lord Jesus alone. And now, in His great grace, He offers that salvation to you.

If you believe in Him, if you accept Him as Lord and receive His offering of grace, why not start your relationship with Him with this simple prayer.

Lord Jesus, I do recognize and confess that I am a sinner and that I am in need of a Savior. I believe in You. I believe that You are the Son of God, that You died for my sins, and that You rose from the dead. I want to turn from my life of sin and live for you. I do that now, and open my heart and my life to You, Lord. Thank You for Your grace, Lord Jesus, thank You for saving me. Amen.

We love you!

We are so stoked that you've gotten this far! If you prayed that prayer, we want you to know that we love you and are praying for you.

We want to hear from you! This is just the beginning, so give us a call or shoot us an email, and come to church!
